Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about RecipeAIssistant. If yours isn’t here, email us.
What is RecipeAIssistant?
A recipe manager, meal planner, and shopping-list app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Everything stays in one place, and it works without an account.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no RecipeAIssistant account and no sign-up. If you use iCloud, your own Apple account handles sync and sharing.
Where are my recipes stored?
On your device. If iCloud is available and enabled, your household data also syncs through Apple’s CloudKit service so your devices stay in step.
Does it work offline?
Yes for your saved content: recipes, plans, lists, and cooking. Importing a recipe from a link, loading remote images, and syncing need a network connection.
Is my data sent to an AI server?
No. Smart features use Apple’s on-device Foundation Models when Apple Intelligence is available on your device. We don’t operate a hosted AI service. Features that need Apple Intelligence aren’t available on devices that don’t support it.
How does household sharing work?
A household owner can invite another iCloud user through Apple’s sharing sheet. Participants see the shared recipes, plans, and lists, and can change them according to their permissions.
Is it free?
Yes to download and use. Premium is an optional annual subscription that removes the 25-recipe limit, lets you plan any date, adds recurring planning rules, and enables household sharing. Prices are shown in the App Store for your region.
How do I restore a purchase?
Open Settings in the app and choose Restore purchases while signed in with the Apple account that bought Premium.
How do I cancel Premium?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open your Apple Account settings → Subscriptions, or the App Store subscription page. Cancelling doesn’t delete your recipes.
How do I delete my data?
In the app’s settings, Reset this device clears local content, and a household owner can permanently delete household data from the device and iCloud. Uninstalling the app doesn’t delete iCloud data or cancel a subscription.
Can I import recipes from a website?
Yes. Paste a recipe URL and the app reads the page’s recipe data, using on-device AI when it needs to tidy things up. If a site blocks automatic import, you can add the recipe by hand.
How do I get help?
Email info@recipeaissistant.com. Please don’t send sensitive household or personal data unless it’s necessary.
